Sun Fun Festival
Downtown Myrtle Beach
The Sun Fun Festival is back in Myrtle Beach after a five year hiatus! Activities planned include shag dance lessons, live concerts, a parade and more. The festival will be held at the same time as the Native Suns Salt Games in downtown Myrtle Beach and will serve as a kick-off for another great summer season.
Plantation Resort’s Backyard Bash
Thursdays all Summer
Our backyard is your backyard! Join us for food, fun, music, and an all-around awesome summer “backyard” pool party. Advanced tickets required by noon Thursday at the Indoor Pool Office.
This two-day event held on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 is an action-packed celebration of life at the beach where competitors test their skills against one another in the water and on the sand. The 2016 schedule includes the Beach Bum 5K, Beach Brawl Wrestling Tournament, BLVD Blowout Skateboard Competition, and a Junior Beach Volleyball Tournament. Past year’s Salt Games drew more than 500 participants and 3,000 spectators for events like surfing, paddleboard racing, volleyball, lifeguard games, a kids run, hot dog eating contest, yoga, a crossfit challenge, and a bikini contest.
Nature Connects: LEGO® Display
March 5 – September 5
Brookgreen Gardens will host 12 larger-than-life LEGO® brick sculpture installations in its Native Wildlife Zoo. Created by Sean Kenney, renowned artist and children’s author, “Nature Connects” is an award winning exhibit currently touring the country. Made from almost a half million LEGO® bricks, the sculptures bring nature to life with a 6-foot tall hummingbird hovering over a trumpet flower, a deer family made from 48,000 bricks, a giant tortoise, a 7-foot long giant dragonfly, and more. The exhibit is open daily and is included in garden admission.
Wednesdays in June
Ron Daise, Vice-president for Creative Education and Gullah descendant, presents an entertaining and informative program about the culture, food, language, and history of the Gullah Geechee people. The program is in the Wall Lowcountry Center Auditorium and is free with garden admission.
Myrtle Beach Corvette Club Car Show
9 am-3 pm
Broadway at the Beach
Rev those engines! Broadway at the Beach welcomes the Myrtle Beach Corvette Car Show. The Car Show will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Broadway at the Beach, south parking lot next to the IMAX theater. Gates open at 8:30 am and registration is from 9-12 when the gates will close, awards will be announced at 3 pm.

Take a stroll through Broadway at the Beach with live entertainment! From musicians, comedians and characters to performers from across the country, you won’t want to miss a minute of Broadway at the Beach’s summer nights!

Come learn how to roll sushi! All materials will be provided for making two California Rolls. Please sign up by 9 pm Wednesday at the Indoor Pool or call ext. 1400.
Carolina Country Music Festival
Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place
812 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach
This multi-day event brings together some of the biggest names in country music along with up and coming artists. 2016 headliners are Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen, Cole Swindell, Kelsea Ballerini, Chase Rice and many more… See the full line up here.
The festival is located at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place. The festival site spans 18 acres of coastal area from the boardwalk to Ocean Blvd. The Main Stage is located at the beach/boardwalk side of the site and the second stage is close to the 501. The site boasts a Zip Line, 2 VIP areas, concessions areas, merchandise booths and more.
July schedule of events
Big boats, small boats, colorful boats and boats that will shoot you with water. You’ll find an array of floating vessels all along the MarshWalk, celebrating the 4th of July. The boat parade begins from Garden City Point at 5 pm; high tide and winds through the inlet, past the MarshWalk and south to Morse Park Landing.
The Fourth of July Parade on Pawleys Island, South Carolina is a fun-filled community event. Visitors and locals alike parade down the Island in anything that becomes a makeshift float – be it a boat, car, or flatbed truck! All of which are decorated in red, white, and blue ~ true patriotic fashion! The Pawleys Island Parade is a fun, family tradition on the 4th.

This juried arts and crafts show brings together hundreds of the nation’s finest artists and craftsmen showcasing their incredible talents and techniques. The Craftsmen’s Classic has won many prestigious awards in the industry, including Southeastern Tourism Society “Top 20 Events”, Art Fair Sourcebook’s “Top 100” & “Top 200” fine art and fine craft show award and the “100 Best” award from Sunshine Artist Magazine.
LeAnn Rimes will perform live at the Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach for one night only. The country star has sold over 37 million albums and is a two-time Grammy winner. The Market Common Fashion Show
The Market Common
The Market Common Fashion Show will feature Grand Strand Magazine’s “Most Stylish.” This is the first time for the event which will offer complementary appetizers and a cash bar with pink champagne, beer and wine. Ticket sales benefit the Hope House which provides a safe environment for homeless teenagers. Tickets are $10.
Join Robin Salmon, Vice-President of Art and Historical Collections and Curator of Scultpure at Brookgreen Gardens, for a talk about highlighting their 85th Anniversary. The program will be held in the Wall Lowcountry Center Auditorium at 2 pm and is free with garden admission.
