Our Mission: To Deliver Gold Crown Vacation Experiences
Kick your feet up in your newly renovated “Home Away From Home.” We’ve updated the arcade at the Activity Center, given the shuttles a fresh new look, not to mention all the updates to more units! Over 1/2 of the condos have undergone a big facelift in the past 2 years with several updates throughout the rest and more updates to come! So read all about it here and then come for a visit to see and enjoy these improvements in person!
Hurricane Matthew
Many of you have expressed concern for the Resort in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. Rest assured the damage was minimal. We even retained power throughout the storm. Each building needed some repair with a few shingles and siding blown off, as well as some windows needing to be replaced. We are happy to report that these issues were resolved quickly and your Resort is ready and waiting for your return!
Platt Boulevard Paved

The beginning of the Platt Blvd paving project.
We’re excited to announce that the drive between the Front Desk and the Resort is as smooth as ever since we joined together with local HOAs in repaving Platt Boulevard. Click this link to find out more details about this project.
New Arcade
The arcade has new games, such as Area Site 4 shooting game, Treasure Chest claw game, a multicade and more! We have 2 The Fast and the Furious racing games so you can race each other. We also offer up the classics such as Ping Pong, Pool and Foosball which are now free. Go ahead, challenge one and all to a tournament!
Shuttles
Make a splash on your way to the beach. We’ve covered our fleet of 4 shuttles in images to put you in the vacation mood as you make your way to Surfside Beach Pier. A beach scene, palm leaves, a hibiscus flower and a sea turtle (as a nod to our sea turtle initiative, about which you can read by clicking here)—Take your pick and ride in style.
Bollard Lights
We’re lining Double Eagle Drive with brilliant new bollard lights to guide you safely to your condo and we have a goal to have them installed around the lazy river by January. These sturdy lights can take quite the beating keeping replacement and maintenance costs low and are energy efficient making them very cost effective plus they look sleek and modern. So come to Plantation Resort and let these bollard lights illuminate your vacation.
Inside the Units
Chances are good that you will be staying in a newly renovated condo the next time you vacation at Plantation Resort. Over 183 of the units have been finished, and we hope to have the rest completed within 2 years.
Here are some of the most significant changes you can expect to see in these condos:
Living Room
In the living room, you’ll notice beautiful new artwork with a more contemporary look and feel. Large or small, these beautiful works will make you feel right at home during your vacation.
As you take your first steps into your vacation condo, you’re greeted by new carpet and tile. As we install new flooring, we’re including more updated soundproofing underneath. It is our priority to make sure your vacation remains as relaxing as possible.
Another of our soundproofing efforts is fitting many of the doors, especially the lockout doors, with soundproof materials to create an oasis of peace and serenity.
In order to manage costs and continue to update your Resort, we are renewing the case goods, such as dressers, head boards, night stands and coffee tables throughout the condos. We replace worn parts and paint them to look good as new at a fraction of the cost.
When it comes to your living room furniture, your comfort is our goal as we’ve added over 230 new sofas, loveseats and lounge chairs in 2015 with more slated for this year. As you continue around the living room, you may notice changes to the lighting. Updating the lamps throughout the units is a long-term goal that will be rewarding in creating a beautiful atmosphere. These lamps and other lighting upgrades, such as the fixtures in the hallways, will set the perfect mood for your vacation.
One way we’re improving the privacy of your condo is through window sheers. You asked for them in comment cards and this is just one of the many ways we show we’re listening. We’ve already installed window sheers in many of the condos and our goal is to finish all of the 1st-floor condos by next summer. Soon, every building will be fitted with beautiful window sheers that grant privacy while letting in the natural light.
Kitchen
Slide your hand along the kitchen counter and feel the cool, smooth texture of the new granite. Countertops have been replaced in over 50% of the kitchens and our goal is to have 200 of the 300 condos finished by next year.
As you continue to explore the kitchen, notice the refacing of the cabinets. New cabinet doors are a great way to update the look of the kitchens. We think you’ll agree that the effort has paid off because they’re sleek and beautiful.
The lamps and hallways aren’t the only places you’ll find new and improved lighting. Kitchens will receive beautiful track lighting and pendant fixtures so you’ll have ample light to prepare delicious meals.
New backsplashes in the kitchens will make you feel right at home. We think you’ll love the new look.
Bathroom
Along with our initiative to help you feel more secure and at ease in your condo, we’ve installed grab bars in each bathroom.
We’re adding granite and custom mirror surrounds to the vanities making them look more refined and finished than ever before.
You may not see them, but you can enjoy the comfort that comes with staying up-to-date with water heaters. We’re expecting to replace more than 150 water heaters in the upcoming year. We’re installing new water heaters that are 60% more energy efficient than older models, saving you energy and money.
Bedroom
Of course, the most important part of your relaxing condo is the bedroom and the highlight of the bedroom is the bed, which is why we’re planning to install 188 deluxe Plantation Resort custom-made mattress sets next year. This includes new mattresses, box springs, pillows and luxurious new bedding to complete your perfect vacation.
Building Roofs
Our ongoing efforts to keep you warm (and cool), safe and dry start with the roofs of the buildings. As you can see from the graphic above, we’ve done a lot with more new roofs to come!
Our Goal
Our ultimate goal is to create a place that you’ll always be happy to call home. As with most improvement efforts, many are on-going or may take years to complete. We promise to keep you updated as we continue improving and renovating your Resort above and beyond Gold Crown standards. Please come and enjoy these new improvements in person. We hope to see you soon at Plantation Resort! To make your reservation call 1-800-845-5039.
Wow! Looks beautiful! We are coming soon to celebrate my 40th birthday! I can’t wait!!
We’re so honored that you are celebrating your birthday with us, Karlee. So excited you are coming!
Lovely… can’t wait for our Spring visit!
We can’t wait either! See you soon!
Did y’all ever get the nonjudical foreclosure passed? So that way it’s easier to do a foreclosure when someone doesn’t pay?
Great question! Yes we did.
Everything looks quite nice. It is always a relaxing vacation at Presidential Villas. It’s enjoyed by both the young and not so young. Enjoying this new web page too.
Thank you so much for your your kind words. We’re glad you enjoyed your time here!
I was hoping that you would screen in the sitting area behind the units, especially on the first floor units. It’s a shame that we can’t sit out there comfortably with all of the waste that the geese generate. every time we come down we suggest it on the comment cards. People on the first floor deserve a clean, fecal matter free outdoor space as much as those on the second floor
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry your experience was less than exceptional. Cleanliness and guest comfort are important to us and we take all of the comment cards and other feedback into consideration when planning for the future.
Everything at the resort looks lovely! Whatever happened to the surrounding golf course? The last time we were there the clubhouse was in bad shape, boarded up with graffiti did not add to a very good vacation atmosphere. However, it was fun to walk on the old golf cart paths. we would love to bring our friends down to golf, but are waiting until that issue is resolved.
Here is a link to our owner newsletter article about the results of the golf course lawsuit. To make up for the loss of the golf course, we have established great relationships with other fantastic golf courses to bring you unbeatable prices. We hope you’ll bring your friends to show them Plantation Resort and some of the best golf courses in Myrtle Beach.
