Need Help Navigating? Or Just Need Directions?
There are many advantages of a secluded location like being close to all the fun, excitement and energy that Myrtle Beach has to offer, but then being able to rest, relax and truly get away from it all at Plantation Resort. This seclusion may make it difficult for those visiting Plantation Resort for the first time. We understand that we may be difficult to find so with this article, we want to help you find your vacation destination with absolute ease! Myrtle Beach can be a high traffic place which is why we’ve gone ahead and included the correct address, routes that avoid major construction, secret shortcuts and tips to finding your way around the Resort.
Correct Address for Plantation Resort
When it is time to type in the address into your smartphone or GPS, it is important to make sure you type in the correct address. Plantation Resort is actually located just south of Myrtle Beach in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Please be sure to choose the set of directions that takes you to the Surfside Beach address (and not Myrtle Beach). Some guests have typed in “Myrtle Beach” which guided them to a different location entirely, to the north of us into downtown Myrtle Beach. Below, we have included the proper address as well as the exact latitude and longitude to help you easily find our location.

Construction Routes to Avoid
We aren’t the only one that is all about improvements! There have been major construction projects on several routes to the Resort — on Glenns Bay Road and SC 707. They are expected to be completed by the end of 2018. Below are some secret shortcuts to help you avoid construction routes.
Ever hear of a local lane? Well, here’s a few local secret shortcuts for you:
Tip #1: If you are traveling from the North Myrtle Beach area, avoid 17 Business (Kings Highway) by taking SC 31 (Carolina Bays Parkway) which is a freeway that will take you directly to Highway 544 (Dick Pond Road). But please don’t tell the locals we told you about SC 31; they want to keep it as their little secret.
Tip #2: Highway 544 (Dick Pond Road), during the summer months and particularly on weekends, can get so busy that it sometimes looks like a parking lot. The final mile from 17 Bypass (near Wal-Mart) to where Highway 544 ends into 17 Business (Kings Highway) is especially troublesome.
So, as you approach 17 Bypass and you see rows of tail lights, take a right (South) onto 17 Bypass and drive approximately 2.4 miles to Glenns Bay Road. Take a left heading (East) onto Glenns Bay Road and travel approximately 1.5 miles to 17 Business. Take a left heading (North) onto 17 Business and in about 1.5 miles, you will see Plantation Resort’s large blue marquee sign on your left. Be sure to exit onto the Frontage Road just after Mason Tire & Auto Service to reach the Front Desk where you check in.
You have now driven “around the block” and avoided the worst of the stop-and-go traffic on Highway 544. Even though this “shortcut” adds a few miles to your trip, it will save you many minutes and get you here faster.
Tips: Finding Your Way Around Plantation Resort
We all know that you are the best driver in the family and probably don’t need any directions; however, we’ve got a few general tips to share with you that you may not even know about!
Tip #1: Take the Shuttle. Of course, everyone loves the beach! Avoid having to find and pay for a parking spot by taking the Resort’s complimentary shuttle bus to and from the beach. Save those parking meter coins for ice cream or maybe a smoothie! But most of all, enjoy your vacation without all the traffic! See your Welcome Magazine for times and locations.
Tip #2: Visit the Preview Center for tours. A lot of folks stop by our Front Desk Office to check in for their scheduled tour provided by Wyndham. We are happy to greet you, however, you will want to check-in at the Preview Center for your tour located behind the Front Office Building (see the map below).
Tip #3: Look in your Welcome Magazine. The Resort is located about a mile away from the Front Office Building. If you open up your Welcome Magazine you receive at check-in, you will see a Resort Map that lays out where all the major buildings are, including your unit!
