If pizza had passion, it would be tossed, topped, and morphed into the form of Lazer Lekani, Owner of Lazer’s Pizza in Surfside Beach. He loves what he does and where he lives.
Lazer’s Pizza serves up friendly customer service, affordable prices, and tasty pizza pies, subs, salads, and dinners in warm, clean surroundings. Whether you eat in or take out, a must-order is a slice (or more) from any of Lazer’s specialty pizzas. It’s a world tour of toppings, from an Albanian pizza (sautéed peppers, onions, garlic, feta and oregano) to the Asian, Greek, Canadian, New Yorker and more. There are nearly 24 combinations! The ingredients are fresh and melted over pizza dough that makes for a pleasant bite. If you’d rather have your toppings sandwiched, order any of the hot or cold subs, steak subs, or parmesan subs. Go light and choose from their vast salad offerings – from antipasto to buffalo, barbecue or teriyaki – drizzled with any of their homemade dressings. And if you prefer a traditional Italian dinner, Lazer’s features spaghetti with meatballs, veal parmesan, and more.
Lazer’s offers a full bar, for those on a date night, and plenty of roomy booths and tables for families and large groups – there’s even alfresco dining available on the front patio.

It had always been Lazer’s determined dream to own a restaurant, and five years ago, the doors to Lazer’s Pizza opened. But not without a major renovation and overhaul to the building, inside and out. And not without an incredible survival story.
A political refugee of Albania, Lekani escaped his communist homeland in his early twenties in 1989 before the communist regime crumbled. It was a journey that began in thought when he was 10 and was put into action when he was 21, on an inner tube through the dark waters of the Adriatic Sea until he was rescued by Yugoslavian fishermen.
Today, he’s a proud American citizen, along with his wife, Valbona, who also hails from Albania, and their three children. The couple moved from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and made their vacation spot a permanent home address that’s right down the road from Plantation Resort.
