With all of the changes happening around us, we’re happy to say fun changes are coming too! With many of your favorite activities sticking around, amenities bringing expected comfort, and attractions reopening for the season, you are bound to have an incredible vacation at Grand Palms Resort.
Enjoy these Fun Activities while Staying Safe
For each of these activities, we are following social distancing guidelines and CDC recommendations. Necessary precautions are being taken to provide you with a clean and fun experience! Occupancy limits are in place due to government restrictions. For a full calendar, click here.
What Activities are offered this Winter?
TUESDAY-THURSDAY
11:00 am-2:00 pm @ Activity Center
Each of these activities will be provided the whole time. Come to the Activity Center and choose which you’d like to enjoy!
Hand Scrub
Make all-natural, chemical-free hand scrubs. Choose from several different scents and ingredients. Decorate your jar using beautiful ribbon and tule. $10 per jar.
Kid’s Craft
Assorted wood shapes including holiday themed pieces to paint. $3 each or 2 for $5.
Coaster Creations
Join us to create your own beverage coaster. We provide all the supplies. $3 each or 4 for $10.
Decorative Glass Painting
Decorate wine glasses or chose from an array of glass shapes such as cruet bottles, vases and others. Go simple and easy or artsy and complex. $7 each.
Totally Turtles
Bring your youngsters to make a turtle mosaic and learn about sea turtles! $5.mosaic or 2 for $8, plus a $2 donation appreciated (helps local sea turtle rescue).
EVERYDAY
5:00-9:00 pm @ Indoor Pool Patio
S’mores at the Patio
Come warm up all month long at our new fire table and enjoy making s’mores with kits available for $4 at the Health & Swim Club front desk. Happening all week long.
Amenities at Your Home-Away-from-Home
Below is a list of the updated changes we are using in our amenities to ensure you have the beach vacation you need while helping all involved stay safe.
MONDAY-FRIDAY
8:00-10:30 am @ Activity Center
Enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet! Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, grits and gravy, along with waffles and much more will be served cafeteria style for safety.
Welcome Magazine
Our Welcome Magazine will help you on your way to a wonderful vacation with information regarding the Resort and surrounding areas. The Welcome Magazine is fully available online so that you can plan ahead even before stepping foot in the new Front Desk. The magazine can be found here.
Indoor Pool, Outdoor Pool, and Lazy River Area
The Outdoor Pool includes these amenities:
- Children’s shallow Wade Pool
- Hot Tub
- VIP Services
The Lazy River includes these amenities:
- Wet Deck/Water Playground with Water Toys
- Zero-Entry Kiddie Pool
- Hot Tub
The Outdoor Pool, Lazy River area, and Indoor Pool are all happily welcoming you and your family for a splash in the warm blue water. Based on local regulations, the following capacity limits are in place:
Outdoor Pool 150 guests
Outdoor Pool Hot Tub 2 guests
Lazy River 80 guests
Lazy River Hot Tub 1 guest
Indoor Pool Hot Tub 1 guest
Indoor Pool Hot Tub 1 guest
With these limits in use, many guests have been able to enjoy the pools without any issues while maintaining social distancing (woot woot!). So grab your swimsuit, your kiddo’s goggles, and a towel; the pools are waiting!
The Health and Swim Club
Weight Room / Fitness Center
Happy to equip you with a full range of universal and free weights plus the latest True and Life Fitness cardiovascular machines found in our Fitness Center. The Center is open everyday, 7 am-10 pm. The current capacity limit is 5 guests at a time.
Currently we are not offering fitness and water aerobics classes. These will be returning as soon as possible, filling our aerobics room and indoor pool will effort and smiles once more!
Mother Earth Day Spa
Need a little rest and relaxation? Mother Earth Day Spa has you covered with some luxurious, treat-your-self massages. Most treatments are available excluding facials and couples massage (in order to keep you and our staff safe). With limited availability (yup, these time slots are extremely loved), call the Health and Swim Club to reserve your massage ahead of time at 843-913-5060. Health and Swim Club Office
Reserve a State Park Pass
You can check out a day state park pass at the Front Office or the Indoor Pool Office, but act fast! These are very popular and run out quickly. Distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Limited to 1 per reservation. These day passes must be returned to the proper office by 9 pm to avoid any late fees.
Check out Beach Chairs and Board Games
Swing by the office to snag our lounging beach chair for your day in the sun. Or, just got home from the beach? Grab your favorite game to share with the family! Call the Health and Swim Club at 843-913-5060 or ext. 1400.
Shuttle Service
Our shuttles run guests to and from Surfside Beach daily providing easy transportation without the hassle of parking. To aid in safe social distancing, we must limit the number of people on the shuttle at a time and ask that you sit a chair apart from other guests/parties. Please contact the Health & Swim Club for details, ext. 1400.
Activity Center and Arcade
Not only is the Activity Center home to our many activities happening during the winter, it also houses the arcade. It is now open with frequent cleanings and we welcome you and your family to enjoy the games. The Arcade is open every day, 8 am – 10 pm. *Children under 16 years old need to be accompanied by a parent.

Local Attractions that will have you “Ooo”-ing and “Aaa”-ing
Be sure to call our Front Desk at 888-913-4477 before visiting the many local attractions of the area. We’d love to help you reserve tickets and times that best suit you.
Rivertown Ice Rink
The Rivertown Ice Rink will be open January 15-18 from noon-8:00 PM daily in Downtown Conway. Skating sessions are approximately one hour with final admission at 7:00 PM. Admission is $15 per person and skate rental is included. More details, click here.
Kind Keeper Animal Rescue Polar Plunge
Kind Keeper Animal Rescue is hosting their first ever Polar Bear Plunge! The event will take place at Neal and Pam’s bar and Grill in Surfside Beach. Check in starts at 11Am and the plunge will be at 1PM. The event is sponsored by Tito’s and there will be drink specials, great food, and a fun time! We are asking that each participant raises a minimum of $30 to take the plunge. You can sponsor someone or take the plunge yourself if you’re brave enough! Conway Chocolate Walk
Spend a Saturday afternoon exploring the shops and restaurants of Downtown Conway while enjoying chocolate creations prepared by our very own amateur chocolatiers. With so many businesses participating in the Chocolate Walk on January 30 from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM.
Brookgreen Gardens
Set in the beautiful flora and fauna of South Carolina, visit the most significant collection of figurative sculptures in an outdoor setting by American artists in the world. See their website for special events they are hosting.
Ripley’s Aquarium
Located at Broadway at the Beach, an entertainment and dining complex that features restaurants, rides, shops, and the 85,000 square-foot Ripley’s Aquarium. Watch out for those shark teeth!
WonderWorks
Family fun awaits with more than 100 interactive exhibits! At WonderWorks, the unexplainable comes to life and the unusual is the norm in features such as a glow-in-the-dark ropes course, fast-paced Laser-Tag, and 6D Extreme Motion Ride XD Theater. See more details here.
Golfing and Putt-Putt
Receive a discount as a Grand Palms Resort guest at many beautiful golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area such as Indigo Creek Golf Club and Prestwick Country Club. To see the courses, visit the “Golf” section in our Welcome Magazine.
Don’t forget the fun of putt-putt! Runaway Bay Mini Golf, Jurassic Golf, and Shipwreck Adventure Golf are sure to give you a blast of a time. Purchase your tickets at the Front Desk for a Grand Palms Resort discount.
Alabama Theatre
Enjoy the exciting live productions of music, dancing, incredible costumes, and even acrobats. Shows the whole family will love including the final showings of The South’s Grandest Christmas Show, An Evening with Greg Rowles, and more. For more details, see their website.
The Carolina Opry Theater
The Carolina Opry is ready to dazzle and amaze you with incredible voices, dances, and costumes in their shows. Catch the last showings of The Christmas Special, or visit the Resurrection: A Journey Tribute show in February to hear your favorites performed.
